winter lab 2016 - amsterdam

the winter lab 2016 took place in amsterdam, the netherlands on friday 8, saturday 9 and sunday 10th of january. It contained among others:

3 different labs, each lead by one or two choreographers  a choreographic workshop
2 lectures bringing dance theory closer to one's practise

each lab topic or concept was based on the choreographer's choreographic practise at the time. For example a research or working towards one's newest creation. in amsterdam the following topics were addressed:

Vanessa Cook:
Currently working on a new arial dance show called 'creature', she will explore different approaches within her concept based on among others: human interaction, pack behaviour, survival of the fittest & the search for intimacy.

Sanne Clifford & Anja Gallagher
A research on solo works and different approaches to it. They will be looking at the relationship of a soloist (from dancer to audience, towards oneself and the use of objects or attributes) and different ways on coaching the dancer, finding new territory.

Eve Neeracher
With the experience from the fall lab in Berne, Eve will take her concept 'digital touch' into a different angle for this edition; a further exploration of the human / inhuman relationships, dealing with all kind of digital forms of communication.

the lectures were be lead by dramaturg Jordi Ribot Thunnissen.
